COMMUNITY COOKS

Beginning March 2020, a fearless group of volunteers came together to cook meals for clients feeling the effects of the global pandemic.
We decided early on that this was an essential service within our organization. Contrary to popular belief, we actually get a lot of fresh food shipments in addition to long lasting pantry items. Cooking up some of the perishable product we get from shipments (ex. vegetables, fruit, meat, etc.), allows us to keep food longer and distribute food in a way that is convenient and nutritious. Each month, hundreds of meals are made and then placed in our freezers for fresh keeping. We firmly believe that nobody should go hungry any day, no matter the external circumstances. Thank you to all the volunteers who have donated their time and talents to make this initiative happen! |
