May 2025 - Raffle Proceeds in ACTIONEarlier this year, Dan Chan (CFN Board Member) and Tina Jackson (CFN Executive Director) met up with representatives from the Rotary Club of Haliburton for a very special meeting. It was here that CFN purchased 36 Good Food Boxes with lottery proceeds. These will help stock our Highlands East Food Banks with 6 bags of fresh veggies & fruits per month, for 6 months, all to be distributed to our food bank clients! At CFN, we are always looking for new ways we can provide our clients with fresh produce, and this was the perfect opportunity! We are proud to use the funds from our CFN Heat & Eat Raffles to support other local community initiatives and businesses, like the Rotary Club of Haliburton. stretch your budget with the good food boxThe Good Food Box is a program that delivers a bag of fresh fruits and vegetables right to your Community. This program is ideal for anyone who needs to stretch their food budget as the retail value of the fruits and vegetables is well above the $20 cost of a Good Food Box bag. ONGOING IMPACTTo date, we have had 4 raffles that have raised over $3,500! A huge thank you to everyone who has participated in these raffles. Every ticket purchased helps stock our shelves, nourish our community, and keep our neighbours warm.
