Donate the temperatureThis summer, we're inviting you to take part in a simple challenge that can make a meaningful difference for local families.
It's called Donate the Temperature. Here's how it works: check today's forecast and consider making a donation that matches the day's high temperature. If today's high is 29°C, you might donate $29. If tomorrow reaches 32°C, perhaps it's $32. Of course, every gift—whatever the amount—is deeply appreciated. Why now? Because while the weather is warm, energy insecurity doesn't take the summer off. Right now, our Heat Bank team is supporting six local households who are at immediate risk of having their electricity disconnected. And more calls keep coming in. Electricity powers so much more than lights. It keeps food safe in refrigerators and freezers, allows families on well systems to access running water, charges phones and medical devices, and helps people stay connected to work, school and essential services. When a family is facing a financial crisis, an overdue electricity bill can quickly become a much larger emergency. That’s why we are launching Donate the Temperature. The idea is simple: 🌡️ Check today's temperature. ❤️ Donate that amount. If today's high is 28°C, consider donating $28. If tomorrow reaches 32°C, consider donating $32. Of course, every gift makes a difference—whether it's $8, $28, or $108. Your donation will help the Heat Bank respond quickly when local households are facing energy insecurity. Together, we can help ensure that a temporary financial hardship doesn't become a crisis. Because everyone deserves to have a safe, powered home. Will you join us by donating today's temperature? Thank you for helping ensure that everyone in our community has access to the essential services most of us rely on every day. Comments are closed.
